Kaaba
The Kaaba (Arabic - cube), is a most important"Mosque" located in the Hejazi city of Mecca, Saudi Arabia. It is the most sacred site in Islam. It is considered by Moslems to be the Bayt Allāh (Arabic: House of God). Its location determines the qiblah (the direction of prayer) Muslims are expected to face when performing Islamic prayer wherever they are in the world,

Set into the eastern corner of the Kaaba is a Black Stone revered by Muslims as an Islamic relic which, according to Muslim tradition, dates back to the time of Adam and Eve The interior contains nothing but the three pillars supporting the roof and a number of suspended silver and gold lamps. During most of the year the Kaaba is covered with an enormous cloth of black brocade, the kiswah.

The stone was venerated at the Kaaba in pre-Islamic pagan times. According to Islamic tradition, it was set intact into the Kaaba's wall by the prophet Muhammad in 605 CE, five years before his first revelation. Since then it has been broken into fragments and is now cemented there..
